Potts Makes First Team Commitment

Potts Makes First Team Commitment

Dale Houlston15 Jun - 23:17

Talented local midfielder Jamie Potts returns to first team football.

Skegness Town FC are delighted to confirm that midfielder Jamie Potts has committed to the club's first-team squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

A highly regarded local talent, Potts' footballing journey began in the grassroots game before progressing through the academy ranks at Grimsby Town, where his development earned him a two-year Professional Development Phase contract.

Since returning to Skegness Town, Jamie has continued to be an important part of the club. Having previously represented the first team, he made the decision over recent seasons to play his football with the reserves, allowing him to enjoy regular game time while balancing his commitments away from the game.

Rather than stepping away from senior football, it was a conscious decision made at the right time for him. Throughout that period, Jamie remained closely connected to the club and consistently demonstrated the quality, professionalism and work ethic that has made him a well respected player in the area.

Now, after successful seasons with the reserves, Jamie feels the timing is right to once again commit himself to first-team football and become part of the squad for the 2026/27 campaign. This is fantastic news for the football club.

A talented and hardworking midfielder, he brings technical quality, energy and experience to the middle of the park. His understanding of the game, combined with his desire to win, makes him a valuable addition to the squad as the club looks ahead to the new season.

Everyone at Skegness Town FC is pleased to welcome Jamie back into the first-team environment and looks forward to seeing him make his mark during the 2026/27 season.
