Following the announcement yesterday regarding the restructure of the National League System we have more information to share. The NCEL and FA have confirmed that the top 3 sides with regards to Points Per Game over the last two seasons in the Premier Division and Division One will be invited to apply for promotion up a Step in the NLS....
This simply means we would be eligible to apply for promotion to Step 5 as we finished in the top 3 on the PPG table! In the NCEL Division One, Winterton Rangers, Emily AFC and ourselves finished in the top three, in the NCEL Premier Division Liversedge, Yorkshire Amateur and Bridlington Town were the top three clubs. Based on communications from the FA, all six of these clubs will have the opportunity for promotion.
The dates for this are as follows:
22nd Apr - FA Council meet to decide if they approve the restructuring proposal;
26th Apr-3rd May - Eligible clubs invited to apply;
10th May - FA Sub-Committee meet to approve applications;
17th May - League constitutions confirmed by FA.
Provided the plans are approved by the FA on 22nd April, we will apply for promotion to Step 5!
Congratulations to everyone for their hard work over the past two seasons to reach this point and, if plans are accepted, it will see the club bring a higher standard of football to Skegness!
