Skegness Town produced a superb first-half display on Saturday afternoon to book their place in the Second Round of the Sports Ground Development UCL Cup with a convincing 4–1 victory away at West Bridgford Colts.

The Lilywhites made the perfect start at Regatta Way, racing into a four-goal advantage inside the opening 20 minutes and putting themselves firmly in control of the tie.

It was also a welcome return to action for Jamie Potts, who made his first appearance of the season and marked it with an outstanding Man of the Match performance.

Town needed just two minutes to break the deadlock.

Lucas Dakin got his name on the scoresheet early on, and the advantage was doubled just three minutes later when Lucas Dakin found the net again to make it 2–0.

The pressure continued and Radford struck in the 10th minute to put Skegness three goals to the good.

With the Colts struggling to contain Town's attacking threat, a fourth arrived on 20 minutes as Theo Kitt-Bushell completed a blistering opening spell for the visitors.

Four goals inside the first 20 minutes gave Skegness a commanding 4–0 lead and left the hosts with a mountain to climb.

Town continued to control proceedings after the interval, although West Bridgford did manage to reduce the deficit in the 73rd minute when Lamin Jassey found the net.

There was, however, to be no comeback.

The Lilywhites remained composed through the closing stages to see out a comprehensive cup victory and secure their passage into the next round.

For Potts, the afternoon was particularly pleasing. Making his first appearance of the campaign, he immediately made his presence felt and produced a performance worthy of the **Man of the Match** award.

With four different attacking contributions across the opening 20 minutes and a strong all-round team performance, it was an impressive afternoon's work from Skegness on the road.

The Lilywhites now move into the Second Round of the Sports Ground Development UCL Cup, with confidence boosted by an emphatic away victory.
