Skegness Town v Blackstones FC
Lilywhites look to build on cup success
Skegness Town return to league action on Wednesday evening when Blackstones FC visit the MKM Stadium, with kick-off at 7:45pm.
The Lilywhites will be looking to carry the momentum from Saturday's UCL Cup victory at Maltby Main into their return to Premier Division North action.
After the disappointment of the defeat to Kimberley Miners Welfare, Gary King's side responded with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Maltby, with Kyle Radford's second-half volley securing progression to the next round of the UCL Cup.
Now attention turns back to league matters, with the Lilywhites looking to get back to winning ways in front of the home supporters.
Wednesday's visitors, Blackstones, will provide another stern test as Skegness look to build some consistency and climb the Premier Division North table.
The two sides have already met twice in the league last season, with Skegness recording a 2-1 away victory before running out 3-1 winners at the MKM Stadium.
However, past results will count for little on Wednesday, with both sides starting the evening looking to secure three valuable league points.
Squad news
There is positive news for Gary King ahead of Wednesday's fixture, with McCauley Parker, Luke Rayner-Mistry and Conor Marshall all coming into contention for a return to the squad, following their recent unavailability.
Their potential returns would provide a welcome boost to the manager's options as the Lilywhites prepare for another important league fixture.
Saturday's cup victory at Maltby also provided an opportunity for several players to get valuable minutes. Toby Cotton made his first full appearance for the club, while new signing Theo Kitt-Bushell made his first start for the Lilywhites.
New signing Harley Thompson also made the trip and was named among the substitutes following his move from Immingham Town.
With the Lilywhites back on home soil, the players will be hoping for another strong turnout at the MKM Stadium as they look to make Wednesday evening another positive step forward.
