Saturday sees the start of a tough run of league fixtures for The Lilywhites, with Skegness Town facing teams currently occupying leading and play-off positions in each of their next five UCL games.

With a couple of challenging cup ties thrown into the mix along the way, it promises to be a demanding period for the squad. But these are exactly the type of challenges that this football club must relish.

As an established Step 5 football club, Skegness Town are no strangers to testing themselves against some of the best sides at this level. These are the fixtures that provide an opportunity to show just how far the club has come, and Saturday's visit of high-flying Clay Cross is the first of those challenges.

Clay Cross the visitors

Clay Cross arrive at the MKM Stadium amongst the division's leading sides and will provide The Lilywhites with a formidable test. For Skegness, however, there is no reason to fear the challenge.

Home advantage, a committed squad and the support of the Skegness faithful can all play their part as The Lilywhites look to start this difficult run of fixtures in the best possible way.

The coming weeks will require plenty of consistency, discipline and character from the squad, and it will be up to Gary King and his coaching team, to get the very best from his players as this demanding run unfolds. The manager will know that there are some excellent opportunities ahead to pick up valuable points against teams competing at the top end of the table.

It is a challenge that Gary and his squad will undoubtedly relish.

Time to relish the challenge

The Lilywhites showed plenty of encouraging signs on Saturday, following the disappointing midweek defeat at Blackstones. And now comes the chance to turn the performance on Saturday into results.

The challenge over the coming weeks is a significant one, but it is also something for everyone connected with the club to look forward to. These are the games that will test the team put together this season. And they are games where players have a great opportunity to make themselves stand out.

Our supporters can play a big part as well, and we would like to emphasise that your support in these big games, genuinely makes a difference. We need you behind us, and we are always grateful for your tremendous backing.

The MKM Stadium needs to be at its best on Saturday, both on and off the pitch, as we welcome one of the division's high-flying sides.

So, get yourselves down to the MKM, get behind Gary King and the players, and let's make sure Clay Cross know they are in for a tough afternoon.
