Biography
Matthew Clarke returned to Skegness Town ahead of the 2026/27 season, bringing experience, leadership and a wealth of quality back to the MKM Stadium following a spell with Newark Town. A former Lilywhites favourite, Matthew was a cornerstone of the side during the memorable Northern Counties East League Division One campaigns of 2018/19 and 2019/20, where his consistency, organisation and commanding presence made him one of the first names on the team sheet.Naturally a commanding central defender, Matthew is expected to feature in a more advanced midfield role this season. His composure in possession, excellent reading of the game and ability to dictate play provide a new dimension to the Skegness Town midfield, while his leadership and experience continue to be invaluable both on and off the pitch. His return is a significant boost for the Lilywhites as the club looks to build and progress.
